Bonnier faced a challenge familiar to many: editors across multiple houses were spending hours trying to keep up with international trends — mostly manually, and mostly guided by intuition. They were good at it, but the process wasn’t scalable.

Together with Bonnier’s publishing houses, we built a data- and AI-powered solution to support smarter title acquisition. Using global book data from online shops, rating platforms, search trends, and social media, we developed a set of tailored tools that deliver regular, automated updates on emerging content trends.

The tools plug straight into editorial workflows, helping editors focus their energy where it counts — deep-diving into the few titles that truly stand out. Less noise, more signal, and more time for the work that actually adds value.

From day one, this project was a joint effort. We worked closely with a group of editors from across all major Bonnier publishing houses in Germany. Together, we shaped the tool suite in a structured, workshop-driven setup that put real workflows front and center.

Through regular feedback loops and live reviews, we made sure the editors’ intelligence and instincts were captured — not replaced — and embedded into the product.

The result? A tool that’s not just adopted, but actively used. It saves time, improves title selection, and makes the editorial process more focused and enjoyable.
